Abstract:
Cell metabolism and drug metabolism are the key links in the screening and development of new drugs, playing an important role in promoting the development of human health. In general, study on cell metabolism and drug screening is mainly carried out via traditional cell culture determination, which is mostly under static culture conditions and cannot well simulate the dynamic cell microenvironment in vivo. Microfluidic chip-mass spectrometry is a new high throughput analysis technology. The dynamic microenvironment in cells could be highly simulated on microfluidic chip module, and samples could be detected online in real time via combination with mass spectrometry. This method has the characteristics of high efficiency, rapidness, simplicity and low consumption of samples and reagents, and is widely applied in cell metabolism and drug metabolism analysis, which is conducive to accelerate the development of drug screening. In this review, the microfluidic chip-mass spectrometry and its application in cell metabolism and drug metabolism are described, and the current limitations are discussed and prospected,in order to provide a reference for the development of microfluidic chip-mass spectrometry in the field of new drug development and cell analysis.
